Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), also known as growth factor C (Somatomedin C), belongs to the insulin-like growth factor family and is structurally homologous to proinsulin. IGF-1 is a mitogenic polypeptide growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and survival of various cells such as muscle, bone and cartilage in vitro. 

IGF-1 binds to IGF-1R, IGF-2R and insulin receptors and activates a variety of signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, survival, growth, apoptosis and regeneration. Recombinant human insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) consists of 70 amino acids and is a biologically active protein for cell culture. 

The product is a lyophilized powder prepared by recombinant yeast, separated and purified by multiple steps, and then freeze-dried.
